New Test Keys
Create a new test key by building the header with details such as teacher name or unit number, setting the Passing Standard, which defaults to 70 percent, and choosing STAAR Standards for approaches, meets, and masters.

Helpful Tips
- General Tab: From the top navigation bar in TEKScore, click Test Key and New. The first screen (General tab) establishes the base settings for all test keys.
- Subject, Grade, Version, and Language – establish a short name for each test (ex: MA.04.099E).
- Click the Preview icon to see version numbers already used for that subject and grade level. Up to 999 versions are available for each subject/grade for online testing.
- Date – enter the approximate date the test will be given to students.
- Description – enter the name of the test or something to help you find it later (Teacher's name, Unit number, etc.).
- Passing Standard – defaults to 70%.
- STAAR Standards - defaults to None. Select Standards for approaches, meets and masters, or Select with Indicators to enter STAAR Standards with indicator percentages.
- Answer Choices – select 3, 4, or 5 (primarily for legacy Plain Paper multiple-choice documents).
- Restrict - select to Hide Questions or Hide Questions and Results.
- Editors – optional; allows other users to edit the test key (add groups/individuals from the Editor tab).
- Content Tab: attach standards for data analysis. Select Subject(s) to populate Courses (including AP), then choose Course(s).
- This information populates the appropriate SEs and Reporting Categories on the Key tab. Select one or more courses for any test key.
