Upload Image
Upload an image to the Question or Responses section of assessment items in TAG. Right-click the image to add alt text for text-to-speech. PNG images are recommended up to 630 by 875, making sure to use the upload function instead of pasting them directly into the text box.
Helpful Tips
- Images can be added to the question stem or answer choices of assessment items in TAG.
- For best results, use PNG images with a maximum size of 630 × 875 pixels.
- Place your cursor where the image should appear, then select the Upload Image icon from the formatting toolbar.
- Use Full-Screen Mode when working with larger graphics for additional workspace.
Uploading an Image
- Select Upload Image and choose the appropriate Content Area.
- Locate the image, then select Insert.

Select the image, right-click, and choose Properties to adjust:
- Width and height
- Alignment
- Alt Text
Alt Text & Text to Speech
- Enter meaningful Alt Text to describe the image for students using Text to Speech.
- Select Speak to test how the Alt Text will be read aloud.
- Select OK when finished, then be sure to Save the item.
Upload images to either the question stem or the answer choices of assessment items in TAG.
As a best practice, we recommend uploading PNG-formatted images.
Sizing works best with a max width and height of 630 by 875 pixels.
Place your cursor where you want the image inserted, then use the formatting bar to locate the upload image icon.
Toggle to full-screen mode when entering large graphics to have more space on the screen.
Click Upload Image, select the content area in the pop-up, locate your image, then click Insert.
With the image on the screen, click it to highlight it, then right-click and select Properties.
Here you can adjust an image's width or height to make it slightly smaller or larger.
Change the Alignment to rearrange how the image appears within the text.
In this example, it's left off so that the image appears on its own between two lines.
Under Alt Text, enter relevant information so that students using the Text-to-Speech testing support will have something read aloud with the image.
Use the Speak button to test the functionality.
Click OK once all of the details are finalized.
Make sure to click the Save icon after making any changes to your item.
