TEKS Standards
Align assessment items to TEKS Standards and filter for them in the Item Library.
Helpful Tips
- The TEKS Standards section on the Item View shows how a question is aligned, including the Content Area, TEKS Year, Primary Course, Student Expectation (SE), and dual-coded standards.
- Select Edit to modify an alignment, the red X to remove it, or the green plus sign to add additional Content Areas.
Searching by Student Expectation
- From the top navigation bar, select Items > Search.
- Select a Content Area and Course, then select Search.

Enter an SE number and choose:
- Exact to search for a specific SE.
- Starts With to search using a partial SE number.
- If you are working from a specific blueprint, select the SE icon and check only the Student Expectations you need.
- Using the SE filters can quickly narrow thousands of items in the Item Library to those aligned with your blueprint.
The TEKS Standards section on the Item View page includes how a question is aligned with a content area, the adopted year for the standard, the Primary Course and Student Expectation, and whether it is dual-coded.
Click the edit icon to make changes, the red X to delete a standard, or the green plus sign to add multiple content areas on an item.
After selecting Items and Search from the top navigation bar in TAG, select a Content Area and Course, and click search. From there, you can use the filter for exact SE numbers or choose "starts with" for a partial entry.
If you have a specific blueprint you are building from, click the SE icon on the top right and only select the SEs you need. This is a quick way to filter thousands of items in the Item Library.
