HTML Math Formatting
Add math symbols and equations using DMAC's math and HTML tools so numbers and symbols display and read correctly for Text-to-Speech.
Helpful Tips
- Basic HTML can be used to customize the formatting of math items in TAG.
- Use Edit in Full Screen Mode for more space when viewing or editing code.
- Place the cursor in the question or answer text box, then select HTML to switch from Design to HTML view.
Math Codes & Symbols
- DMAC provides HTML code for commonly used fractions, symbols, line segments, arcs, and other math elements.
- Access the available codes from the DMAC Resources page.
- Copy the desired code and paste it into the HTML view of the question or answer.
- Return to Design View to see the formatted result.
Tables
- HTML code is also available for creating tables.
- Copy the table code into HTML view, then return to Design View.
- From Design View, edit the table titles and individual cells as needed.
If you have some basic knowledge of HTML, you can better format math items in TAG. But don't worry, even if you are not a web developer, you can follow these steps to get started. For any questions, feel free to call the DMAC Help Desk at any time.
From the Design view, use the Edit in Full Screen Mode icon on the toolbar to provide more space to view the code.
To add custom code, put the cursor inside the text box and move from Design to HTML view by selecting the button at the bottom of the question or answer stem.
For Math items, DMAC maintains a list of the most used fractions, symbols, line segments, arcs, tables, and more.
Access the link from our resources page and copy the desired code into the HTML view of a question as seen here.
We also have some code for adding Tables.
Copy the code and then move back to the Design space to make changes to the titles or individual cells.
