HTML Math Formatting

Add math symbols and equations using DMAC's math and HTML tools so numbers and symbols display and read correctly for Text-to-Speech.

Helpful Tips

For math items, use the Superscript icon so Text-to-Speech reads numbers such as 2 or 3 as "squared" and "cubed."
Insert a Minus character from the editing toolbar when you need a negative symbol in a math question (do not type it from the keyboard).
Text-to-Speech reads the minus sign as "minus" when entered in an equation with a space, and as "negative" when placed before a whole number without a space.
For negative fractions, place the minus sign before the fraction (uploaded as an image).
Highlight only the text you are formatting, not the surrounding spaces, so Text-to-Speech reads it correctly.
