Bluebonnet in TAG
Find Bluebonnet Learning tests, items, and passages in TAG, where the assessments are pre-bundled and ready to use at no extra cost and span K-2 reading, grammar, and fluency, grades 3 through 5 reading and math, and more.
Helpful Tips
- Bluebonnet Learning assessments are available to all Texas educators with a TAG subscription at no additional cost.
- In the Test Library or Item Library, use the Source filter and select Bluebonnet to find available content.
- Bluebonnet includes both individual items and bundled tests aligned to Texas standards.
Bluebonnet Resources
Two types of Bluebonnet resources are available in TAG:
- Bluebonnet Learning – Digitized versions of the print materials available to schools.
- QTI Versions – Additional standardized assessment packets provided by TEA. Look for the QTI Version keyword below the test name.
Available content includes:

Reading
- Kindergarten–Grade 5 in English and Spanish
- K–2 includes Dictation, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Word Recognition, and more.
- Grades 3–5 include Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Morphology, and beginning-, middle-, and end-of-year assessments.
- QTI versions also include End-of-Unit Assessments for additional progress checks.

Math
- Spanish content for Kindergarten–Grade 6
- English content for Kindergarten–Grade 8, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry
- Assessments may include Pre- and Post-Year, Mid-Module, and End-of-Module tests.
Finding & Using Assessments
- Use the keyword tiles below test names to filter by unit, test version, administration type, and other criteria.
- A language icon indicates an item is available in multiple languages. Use the language filter to switch between English and Spanish.
- Select View Source to see additional information about the original Bluebonnet material.
- Select the Print icon to print a test without answers.
- Select the Export icon to send an assessment to TEKScore and create a test key for administration.
DMAC's TAG application contains Bluebonnet Learning assessments available to all
Texas Educators.
This is included with your TAG subscription each year for no additional cost.
They provide a structured, TEKS-aligned option to support your instructional
planning and student progress monitoring.
From either the test or item library in TAG, use the Source filter to select
Bluebonnet.
Individual items or bundled tests are available.
Two types of resources are included within the Bluebonnet source.
If you see the keyword tile 'QTI version' under a test name, these contain extra
assessment items created as standardized test packets provided by TEA.
If not labeled as QTI, the Bluebonnet source reflects the digitized content of
the print materials you may have available at your school.
Bluebonnet Learning print Reading items and assessments include Kindergarten
through Fifth grade English and Spanish.
Kindergarten through second grade tests include Dictation, Reading
Comprehension, Grammar, Word recognition, and more
Grades three through five focus on Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Morphology,
and beginning, middle and end-of-year tests.
The QTI versions of these Reading tests include End of Unit Assessments,
providing additional checkpoints throughout the year.
For Math, Bluebonnet content includes: Pre- and Post-Year Assessments, Mid-
Module Tests, and End-of-Module Tests for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade
Spanish, and K through 8th, Algebra one and two, and Geometry in English.
When searching in the item library, click on the Keywords, or yellow boxes,
below each test name to filter tests by Unit, Test Version, and how the test is
administered.
Notice the language icon to the right of certain items. This indicates that the
same question has multiple language options. You can test this by switching from
English to Spanish in the filters and clicking search.
Back on the test library, click the View Source link under a test name to see
more information.
To print a copy of the tests without the answers, use the print icon to the
right of each test.
To administer a test in TEKScore, click the Export icon and follow the same
process used to create a new test key.
