BETA Accountability Reports

Learn how to generate STAAR Demographic Beta Accountability reports in DMAC. This video covers selecting campuses and indicators, updating Accountability Settings, entering CCMR and graduation data, generating reports, viewing student details, and exporting data.

Helpful Tips

STAAR Demographic Beta Accountability Reports use the most current accountability calculations available in DMAC.

Accountability Settings

  • Go to STAAR > Reports > Demographic.
  • Select the Campus tab, one or more campuses, and the desired year.
  • Select State under Indicators. This limits the available options to reports using current state accountability calculations.
  • DMAC does not receive SAT, ACT, CCMR, or graduation data. CCMR and graduation information can be entered manually for use in these reports.

District Administrators and District Managers can update this information under Settings > Accountability.

  • Required fields include:
    • Campus Type
    • Lowest Grade
    • Highest Grade
    • Number of Students in Grades 3–12
  • Enter CCMR and Graduation Rates as needed.
  • Lowest Demo 1 & 2 are optional and are used for the Closing the Gaps Report.
  • If Lowest Demo 1 & 2 are not selected, calculations from the previous year's data are used to determine the two lowest demographic groups.

Generating Reports

  • Return to Reports > Demographic and make the appropriate Campus, Year, and State Indicator selections.
  • Adjust the Cut Score Type if needed.
  • Select Generate.
  • Use the buttons at the top to move between reports.
  • Select any underlined number to view the corresponding list of students in a separate tab.
  • Select CSV to export the report data and view additional information.
  • Select Close to return to the report screen.

From the landing page, click on STAAR and Reports and then Demographic from the top navigation bar.

From here, STAAR Demographic Beta Accountability reports are available in DMAC.

Click the Campus tab at the top and select one or more campuses.

Select the desired year from the drop-down.

Then select State under the Indicators section on the left.

Doing this locks down available options so that the reports reflect the current calculations provided by the state.

It’s important to note that DMAC does not have access to SAT, ACT, CCMR, or graduation data.

However, you can enter both CCMR and graduation data in the software so they appear on these reports.

From the top navigation bar, District Admins and District Managers can view and update the information that will appear on the Beta reports under Settings and Accountability.

CCMR and graduation rates saved on this page will populate in the Accountability Reports pulled by any user at the district.

Campus Type, Lowest Grade, Highest Grade, and number of Students (3-12) must be selected.

The Lowest Demo 1 & 2 fields are optional.

If selected, these fields are used in the Closing the Gaps Report.

If not selected, the report uses calculations from the previous year's data to set the 2 lowest demographics.

For this demo we will leave these areas blank.

To generate sample reports, click Reports and Demographic again, making the same selections as earlier.

Note here that you can also change the cut score type using the drop-down or link to external resources with information including the calculations and accountability data listed.

Click Generate.

Use the buttons at the top to navigate through the reports.

Any numbers that include an underline, link to a list of student names that opens in a separate tab.

Export the data shown on the screen and view even more information by using the CSV button.

Or, select Close to return to the previous screen.
