Districts can utilize TAG to access two new item banks available for purchase:
TEKSready - Prebuilt assessments designed by Region 10
Pre- & Post-test Items in DMAC -Â content authored by Region 7
Simplify the TIA process by using trusted content for Beginning and End-of-Year assessments to measure student growth as a part of your local designation system. Choose one or both item banks based on your needs.
Please note:
To access the new item banks, you must also purchase TAG, TEKScore, and Class Roster in DMAC.
Both are priced individually by total enrollment (K-12) and are not available for individual campuses. Schools must have an active subscription to the selected item bank(s) and TAG to access the content each year.
Once purchased, TEKSready and Pre- & Post-test Items in DMAC are accessible within the TAG application. Your DMAC District Administrator(s) will be able to assign who can see and utilize the content.Â

Q&A: TEKSready and Pre-& Post-test Items in DMAC
Are TEKSready and DMAC Pre-and Post-test Items included with my TAG subscription?
No. Both are purchased separately and are priced by total district enrollment (K–12) — they are not available for purchase at the individual campus level. TEKSready is billed at $1.75 per student and is invoiced separately from your other DMAC applications. DMAC Pre-and Post-test Items are $1.00 per student. Your school must also have an active TAG subscription to access either item bank.
What happens if our district does not renew our subscription for TEKSready or DMAC Pre-and Post-test Items?
You lose access — not just to the original item bank, but to every copy you’ve made from it. If you copy an assessment (or copy a copy of a copy), it still traces back to the original licensed source. If the subscription lapses, all of those derivative copies are removed from your account. This is only for item banks purchased separately. Other content in TAG will still be available.
Do we need to sign anything before we get access?
Yes. Before content unlocks in TAG, at least one District Administrator must accept a content agreement (a one-time acceptance per school year) for that specific content source. TEKSready also requires a signed service agreement.
How do we purchase these item banks if our district doesn’t have them yet?
The Pre- and Post-test Items in DMAC can be purchased the same way as other DMAC applications. You can contact your regional partner or DMAC directly to add that service. TEKSr
Who can grant access to TEKSready and DMAC Pre/Post content?
Only your district’s DMAC District Administrator can manage this. Under Settings > Restricted Content in TAG, the District Administrator adds or removes the users who can view each item bank. Campus Adminis can be granted access, but only a District Admin controls the settings and decides who gets added.
Do District Administrators automatically have access?
Not necessarily. If you weren’t the District Admin who originally accepted the content agreement, you still need to be added to the current users list before you can view the content.
Does every teacher need access to these item banks?
No. Access is intentionally limited to a small group — typically just the staff who build or administer the pre/post assessments — not the whole district. If you don’t want someone to see the actual test content, don’t grant them access under the Restricted Content section.
How do I know whether I already have access to a content source?
Check your test library. If the content Source (TEKSready or DMAC Pre/Post) appears there, you have access. If it doesn’t appear, you don’t yet have access — check whether your district has accepted the content agreement and whether you’ve been added as a current user.
I see TEKSready in my restricted content but not DMAC Pre/Post (or vice versa). What do I do?
Email support@dmac-solutions.net. DMAC Pre/Post access is tied to your existing DMA SLA/regional service center agreement, while TEKSready is a separate contract, so the two are sometimes enabled on different timelines. Our Helpdesk can confirm which contracts are active for your district and enable access if needed.
What’s the difference between TEKSready and DMAC Pre/Post?
TEKSready is a set of prebuilt assessments designed by Region 10, each with a blueprint (spelling out item counts and item types) you can use as-is or edit. DMAC Pre/Post is an item bank — a pool of individual items authored by Region 7 — so you build the test yourself: choosing the number of questions, which student expectations to cover, and the overall layout, based on your own blueprint.
What’s the difference between Bluebonnet and TEKSready?
Bluebonnet is curriculum content delivered to all districts by TEA and is not restricted; every district has access if you purchase TAG. TEKSready is a separate, purchased item bank built specifically for TIA purposes (BOY/EOY growth measurement) and requires its own license.
Why do I need to make a copy of a TEKSready or DMAC Pre/Post assessment?
These are shared item banks, so you can’t edit the original directly. Even TEKSready’s prebuilt tests are meant to be adapted to your district, and DMAC Pre/Post is entirely built from scratch by you. Copying creates a "User test" that only you can see and edit — for example, to remove an essay item you can’t score blind, or adjust items to match your blueprint.
How do I copy and edit an assessment?
In your Test Library, find the assessment and click the copy icon (the double-paper icon next to the magnifying glass). Name the copy using your district’s naming convention — for example, "Astronomy BOY." From there, you can edit it like any other assessment, adding or removing items as needed.
Who can see the copy I create?
Only you, until you share it. A District Administrator can share a test with specific users or with a share group you sets up.
What access levels can we set for teachers on these tests?
Three options: allow full access to questions and results; hide questions only (teachers can still pull SE/reporting-category results, but can’t see the actual items); or hide both questions and results (the assessment won’t even appear on the teacher’s dashboard — only the test administrator or an editor can see results). Since TIA pre/post tests are usually given blind, most districts hide the questions. This setting can be changed at any time from the General tab.
