Privacy Statement

This privacy statement applies to www.dmac-solutions.net, owned and operated by DMAC Solutions – Region 7 Education Service Center (“DMAC,” “Us,” We,” or “Our”). This privacy statement describes how DMAC collects and uses the personal information collected and maintained on our web site: www.dmac-solutions.net (The “Service”). It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information. This privacy statement does not apply to any software downloaded from this site.

1. Information Collection and Use

DMAC collects information under the direction of its clients – school districts and schools – and has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. If you are a student of one of DMAC’s clients, or the parent of a student of one of DMAC’s clients, and would no longer like to have DMAC process your or your child’s information, please contact the DMAC client that you interact with directly.

We collect the following kinds of personal information from our clients about students (“Student Information”):

  • contact information such as name, unique ID number, local ID number, and date of birth;
  • academic information such as school district, campus, grade level, subjects, test scores, grades, teachers, students, peers, notes on student performance, and academic indicators;
  • demographic information including ethnicity, migrant status, languages spoken, age, and gender; and state Student ID Number.

We also collect the following information from our clients and users (“client information”):

  • contact information such as name, location, position, phone, and email address;
  • unique identifiers such as username, password, and user ID number; and contract information for provisioned services.

We use this information to:

  • respond to customer service requests;
  • administer your account;
  • train you and your team on the use of the software;
  • provide the services you requested; and
  • respond to your questions, concerns, and feedback.

We do not supplement any data collected on or for our clients with any information obtained from unaffiliated third party sources.

2. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not disclose student information to any third parties. If you do not want us to share client information with any companies, contact us at privacy@dmac-solutions.net.

Service Providers

DMAC may transfer client information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the provisions in this statement regarding notice and choice and our service providers are contractually obligated to only use our client information as necessary to provide us with their service. We use sub-processors in order to provide use with email, survey, and support services.

Legal Disclaimer

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with the Texas Public Information Act, subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • if DMAC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information; and
  • to any other third party with your prior consent to do so.

3. User Access and Choice

DMAC has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes on behalf of its clients. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to DMAC’s client (the data controller). If the client requests DMAC to remove the data, we will respond to its request within 30 days.

We will retain personal data we process on behalf of our clients for as long as we need to complete a reasonably useful purpose. DMAC will retain and use this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Opt-out Preferences

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you.  Out of respect for your privacy, you may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails or you can contact us at privacy@dmac-solutions.net.

Surveys

We may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site.  If you participate, we will request certain personal information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information such as name and title.

We use this information to collect and display testimonials of satisfied clients on our website. With your consent we may post your testimonial along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us at privacy@dmac-solutions.net.

We use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys; that company is prohibited from using our users’ personal information for any other purpose. We will not share the personal information you provide through a survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.

4. Tracking Technologies

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information about our visitors automatically using various tracking technologies. We attempt to limit the amount of information collected in this way to only what is functionally necessary to provide our services.

Log Files

We gather certain information about our visitors automatically and store it in log files. This information may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We do not link this automatically collected data to other information we collect about you. We do this to improve services we offer you, to improve historical analytics, or provide customer support.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

DMAC and our partners, affiliates, or analytics or service providers use technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the site, remembering users’ settings, and tracking users’ movements around the site. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis. Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you be unable to use the functionality of our site.

Local Storage Objects – Flash Cookies

Our partners use Local Storage Objects (LSOs) such as Flash cookies to display trustmarks on our site. LSOs are functionally similar to cookies but cannot be deleted in the same manner as cookies. To manage Flash LSOs please click here.

5. Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as login credentials), we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.  However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. 6. Links to 3rd Party Sites

Our Website includes links to other websites whose privacy practices may differ from those of DMAC’s. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any web site you visit.

7. Changes To This Privacy Statement

DMAC may update this privacy statement to reflect changes to our information practices. If DMAC makes any material changes it will notify you by email or by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices
